animate for the fun, design for the love from Marcos Silva on Vimeo.

Marcos contacted me a few days ago with this great video, I thought you’d might like to check it out!

Great work – I love the simple shapes and awesome tune.

Update: Marcos talks about his process with MGTV:

This was a final project for an Audiovisual techniques class. The teacher told us to make a project using After Effects that involves video editing, Visual Effects and Motion graphics. I started to think about what to do because I already decided I would make a motion graphics piece. As a starting point I used a geometrical type illustration I made because it seemed to work great in motion. So while doing research on the web I found really great work that inspired me like the awesome pieces by Jr Canest and tutorials from Nick Campbell. When I figured out what I wanted to do I had another problem, the music soundtrack for the animation. I opened my iTunes library and listened to almost 4 hours of music for a song that would fir this project. But while I was listening to a great girl’s band from Brazil called CSS ( Cansei de ser sexy) I found this great music to have the perfect beat. After that I started to animate in After Effects the shapes which I had created in Illustrator CS3. Almost all the shapes where animated individually for better control.

Thanks for the Insight Marcos!
